Not much to report. Having a great time out here visiting friends. It's about 9:30am and breakfast is cooking up and it's about 10 degrees outside. Yesterday, the high was 8 degrees and last night it got down to minus 10 degrees.
Yesterday we trekked up the side of a mountain near the Idaho border using snow shoes and found a clearing where we could sled....which had to have been the best sledding I've ever done. A steep angle in about 4 feet of pristine powder. We travel back tomorrow...back to the tropical weather of Charles Town to get ready for 2008.

Law Enforcement
A couple nights ago I was up late watching videos and came across this one. I don't condone this kind of activity, but my goodness it's funny.

I'm Your Worst Nightmare
In a little update from yesterday, I now have 71 people registered for my upcoming giveaway of an "Orange County" DVD. Not bad for having just created the site yesterday. We'll see how many sign up by next Sunday night. I expect the numbers to trail off and probably end up around 200.
In other "news" have you seen the new trailer for Rambo IV? Maybe it's just me, but Sly seems to be looking a little tired. I guess you can only defeat hundreds of enemies single handedly so many times before the challenge becomes a little boring.
I suppose it's hard to live up to your past performances.
If I were casting the part I know who I'd pick instead of Sly. Weird Al all the way. Plus he has experience playing Rambo. Plus I would also have Kramer.

Free Stuff On The Internet
It was a really early morning for Liz and I this morning. She had a 6:55am flight out of BWI so we headed off at about 4:30 which meant getting up at 4:00. I know some of you get up that early every day so I'm not complaining...just stating the facts. As we were driving I was thinking about creating a new website that just gives stuff away for free. No gimmicks, no tricks, no strings attached. I would give away something every Sunday night to a random winner chosen from whoever signs up on the site. I have a lot of stuff around the house that I never use and instead of just throwing it away or taking it all in a trash bag to the goodwill dumpster, I wondered it I could just create a site that would generate a big email list. Anyone who would sign up would get a weekly email from me with 3 bits of information. Congratulations to the winner, what the next week's prize will be and an affiliate link to a sponsor. If they click on the affiliate link and buy something, good for the affiliate and good for me, but if they don't that's totally fine. I get to give stuff that I don't use or want away and random people that I don't know get to win things. And who doesn't like to win stuff? Thus, at about 1:00pm today, http://ChristmasEveryWeek.com was created and as of 10:30pm tonight, I have 54 people registered (37 of which have confirmed their email) and NONE of them are people that I know. Pretty cool. This week's prize? A brand new DVD of Jack Black's movie "Orange County" still wrapped in plastic. So go ahead and sign up. You've got nothing to lose and by registering you will be included in EVERY GIVEAWAY I do forever on this site as long as your email address stays subscribed.

Statistics
Mark Twain reportedly once said, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics." Which is why I rarely get to concerned about stats in the media. However, it was nice to finally see a positive statistic being reported by a reputable news source.

Title Says It All
I'm not trying to poke fun at the unfortunate events in anyone's life, but I just couldn't help but laugh at the title of this story.
The category? Cardiac Events The clue? Alex Trebek
I'm sure he'll be ok. If you read the article you know what happened to him in 2004 when he accidentally drove his truck off a 45 foot cliff after falling asleep at the wheel.

Ideas For The New Year Party
Last night I had two of my friends over to the Boardroom and we were discussing the kind of theme this year's party should have. The last two years we've done game shows. First year was Let's Make A Deal. Last year was The Price Is Right. This year?.... I'm still not sure, but Liz suggested I do some internet research to get some ideas. I'm not sure these would go over so well, but it would definitely be memorable.
This game is probably too painful...
This one looks fun, but the logistics may be a problem.
I have to admit that I don't fully understand what is going on here, but it does look funny.

Smarter Than Monkeys?...
A truly humbling story. Of course, it was college kids. Monkeys have no problem taking tests at 8:00am on Saturday mornings.

Hello Boys and Girls
I know, I know...the new post count has been way down. Well, what can I say. We're into the holiday season. I realize that that reason has nothing to do with the number of new blog posts but it's the only reason you're going to get out of me.
So without further adieu..."this is how you answer the door in my neighborhood." Also, note the short skit by Julia Louis-Dreyfus...it's a good one.
