This post is reaching out to anyone who may be able to help me with a little challenge I had this weekend with my cell phone. It accidentally took a little bath and by "little bath" I mean tossed and turned repeatedly in soapy water for over 15 minutes....yup....washing machine.
If anyone has any ideas about how I could possibly bring it back to life I'd be interested. My first instinct was to just leave it out in the sun for a couple hours, but after 36 hours I can still see lots of moisture in there. I was talking about it with my father this morning and he claims to have dried his cell phone out in the past by placing it in the refrigerator.
"You know how vegetables will dry out if you leave them in there too long?" he asks me. I'm thinking I know how just about anything looks once you leave it in the fridge for a couple months. I've seen some scary stuff in there. But I decide to try. I put it there today and will leave it be for a couple days to see if it works.
Does anyone else have an idea of how to save a cell phone that's been through the ringer?

I would not recommend putting it in the fridge. I've done this myself - twice. Well, not the washer but wet both times. The first time all it took was time. The second, it never did come back. A trip through a washing cycle ssounds like it will leave to the latter. Of course, it is not good to leave in the sun either. I recommend leaving in a shady but dry place and rotate the angle every day or so. If it not coming back after a week - it likely won't. At that point you can be more adventurous and take it apart a bit and try a hair dryer, the low and warm setting, if your's has one. Good luck.
i tried the hair dryer on the telephone after i flushed it in the toilet to win concert tickets. the dryer didnt work but letting it airdry a couple of days did. the dryer did do wonders for its bufont, though....
UPDATE: Fridge thing didn't work. Starting to imagine what life would be like with a new blackberry.....
