Shhhh....This Is A Library

Last night I started cleaning up my Outlook inbox. I had around 2600 emails in there dating back to the last holiday season. I've seen worse (5 or 6 thousand emails in the Inbox) but it's nice to get it back down to a manageable 400 emails. Emails 2600 down to 1000 are the easiest to "file", from 1000 to today's emails could still be useful, so it's a lot of making new folders and shifting emails. One bonus is finding funny things that have been sent to me by friends that I never took the time to post on my blog. This one is from a couple months ago, so if you've seen it before....watch it anyway and laugh....laughing is good for you.

I'm just wondering....How many emails does one typically have in their Inbox? Does anyone have over 10,000?

Hey, is that Miss Teen SC!?

No idea how many emails I have but I do have some from 2002 when I started working for my current employer.

I have 5324 in my inbox- it is on the lower left-hand corner of outlook.

Liz, I bet you have a gold mine of good blog material is that inbox.

Thanks Liz. Unfortunately for me I have 20+ subfolders so I would have to count the email in each folder and then sum them up.

And then, I am subscribed to 2 other email boxes that we use for client work.

To be honest, I could probably delete 90% of the email as it is totally not relevant anymore. But then, I wouldn't feel nearly as important. Plus, when I have my annual review, and they ask me, "what have you done in the past year?" I can look through my email and find out.

That last one is crucial Mike. In fact, in the future if I ever need to submit a resume I think I'll just send over a copy of my Outlook.pst instead.

"It's all in there. You can read for yourself."

Of course, they would then be too lazy to actually go through and read the whole thing and just assume that I was an incredibly productive person. No more updating resumes!
